FORCHECK provides optimal documentation.
For each program unit Forcheck can generate a source code listing and cross-reference tables for all syntactic items.
The reference structure (call tree) gives insight into the program structure. This call-tree can be presented in a textual format and also stored in XML format for browsing and further processing.
The module dependencies tree shows the dependencies of the used modules. This tree can also be presented in a textual format and stored in XML format for browsing and further processing.
Using the subprogram index you can easily find the documentation of each individual subprogram.
From the program cross-reference tables you can exactly trace all references of a subprogram, an external file, an include file, a module, or a common block. Even specific objects of a common block, public module variables and derived types can be traced.
The analysis is concluded with a report containing a summary of the messages given, and metrics like the number of subprograms, the number of statements, the number of lines, the number of (non-empty) comment lines, etc. for each subprogram analysed and the integral program.
